The Possession of Michael King

Let’s be quick on this one.

In the tradition of the ‘found footage style’ in line with ‘The Blair Witch Project’ and ‘Paranormal Activity’ comes ‘The Possession of Michael King.’ This movie added the usual demonic possession, true to life to the latest trend and the result is downright preposterous.

I’m a sucker usually for the ‘demonic’ road for horror flicks, Deliver Us From Evil is the last one I’ve watched and I’m afraid this genre is on a downward spiral.

A very doubtful and self confessed non-believer   of the paranormal Michael King wanted to prove the existence of the third kind, summoning devil by rituals and drugs (I know right) ended up possessed and quite frankly, he got what he deserved. It started with some promise, as he introduced us to his family and yes, it was touching, however the promising part ended there and never came back. He lost his wife by an accident leaving him with their young daughter and his heart became filled with despair and regret.

I’m very surprised with the gore that was shown in this film, and when a movie resorts to gore, it means there’s no story and blood and guts distracts you for that. It’s not even scary, they just startles you with out of the blue shocker which is the definition of cheating. Additionally, what kind of demon who carries a camera still when doing his evil deeds? Perhaps we will never know.

To cut a long story short, The Possession of Michael King is a story of a depressed man who lost his wife and went crazy. The end.
